La Jolla

Set on a 1.5-acre bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this reimagined 1959 mid-century estate is designed as a cohesive yet dynamic landscape for a young family. The plan organizes the site into a series of connected outdoor rooms that balance entertaining, recreation, and quiet retreat. Primary gathering spaces, including outdoor dining terraces and lounge areas, are oriented toward expansive ocean views, while lawns and a combined tennis and basketball court support active use. A lap pool and sun deck anchor the recreational core of the property. More contemplative experiences are woven throughout, including a Zen-inspired garden with a koi pond and rockery. Together, the design creates a layered, liveable estate that blends coastal character, family-oriented functionality, and a refined sense of place.
