TROUSDALE ESTATE RESIDENCE
BEVERLY HILLS, CA - 2016
The gardens of this mid-century estate, located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, were given a modern update to better suit the Clients needs and pay homage to the period architecture. In an effort to create a private usable front yard, custom stonewalls and gates were designed to extend the architectural finishes to the street.
The A-symmetrical layout leads the pedestrian to the front entry courtyard where custom benches, bonsai pine, tree ferns and a koi pond create space for gathering. Large existing tree specimens of California Sycamore and Italian Stone Pine were preserved as sculptural accents. Throughout the 3⁄4 acre site, pathways were added and garden areas enhanced to create a cohesive landscape master plan.

This hillside renovation completely transformed the existing landscape into a contemporary Brazilian-inspired estate.
The terraced property sits above the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles and unfolds with a series of lush garden spaces and water features experienced on multiple levels.
Dramatic views of West Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean are accentuated by large specimen groupings of bamboo, palm trees and pines.
